About the Brewery
Based just south of the beautiful South Downs in Firle, Burning Sky is one of Britain’s most respected farmhouse breweries. Its speciality is beautifully patient beer: saisons, mixed fermentation and barrel-aged creations inspired by traditional European brewing but made unmistakably in Sussex.
WHAT CHEESES THO?
Bright fruit and gentle acidity make this a fantastic cheese-table refresher.
Creamy soft cheeses – Go for Wigmore, Brie or Baron Bigod (always!). The acidity cuts cleanly through all that glorious creaminess.
Fresh goat’s cheese – Tangy, lactic cheese loves raspberry and cherry.
Crumbly territorial cheese – Try Wensleydale or Lancashire and let the fruit do the chutney’s job.
Why IS THIS BEER IN THE RIOT?
Fruity without being frivolous, tart without attacking your face and complex without demanding a tasting qualification. A proper gateway into the wild and wonderful world of saison. so much time for this gorgeous girl!
